Stampendous December Challenge..... (pink/brown/gold)

Today I have my very last card of the year.....This card is SO not Jennie, but I am trying to do more of this type of card... "Frantage Style".. I didn't even color an image, but I did use my copics Airbrush for the flowers (R22, E33)

I kinda covered up a bit of the embossing powder and mica chips on the bottom under the flowers.. but you can still see bits and pieces of it here and there... I love playing with this embossing powder and Mica from Stampendous.. It is AWESOME.....

CHECK OUT THE MICA.... I added it to my embossing powder and it adds chunks of metal on the card... I LOVE IT...... you will too! LOOK HERE all of their new embossing powders and mica's are amazing!
May you all have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. Please be safe... I prefer to stay home on New Year's Eve just because of the dangers... I pray that my son and your families will be safe!
I used one of Frans Jumbo Stamps for the greeting..... I love this stamp for a quick card that needs NO COLORING! Whew Hew... isn't that cool!

Stamp: CRS5002 Jumbo Thinking of You
Stampendous Mica & embossing powder

Check out all of the other awesome challenge cards done by the all so talented Stampendous Design Team. Try this challenge, it was hard at first, but then got easier as the month went on... Pink, gold, brown.... (I actually used more of a salmon color but hey...the challenge is to spark your imagination and you don't need to stick to the EXACT rule!) Have fun! Check in on Monday for January's fun challenge theme! (It has to do with Sparkle)

Strawberry Kisses - Sneek Peek! shhhh

Wow.... I am back from vacation, Austin was here for a few days and is already back in Washington with his dad... (boo hoo). We had a fantastic old fashioned visit. Nothing fancy just hung out together! Now I am back at the wheel of my job... LOL... did I say JOB....

I have recently had honor of becoming a part of a fantastic design team for Crafter's Companion. I am actually new to this company, but man oh man.... they have some fun stamps, goodies, tools etc... Especially their Ultimate tool that I cannot wait to share with you on some of my upcoming posts. It makes easy explosion boxes, fun interactive cards and boxes, etc... They have Popcorn Bear Stamps, Sheena Douglas Stamps, SWALK (sealed with a little kiss) and so many more that I can't wait to share... whew hew....

This image is from one of their fun and newest stamp lines called STRAWBERRY KISSES available at your local store, you can view them here next week! Now is that the cutest name for a stamp company or what?... it is made up of doggies and kitties doing cute little things. Some of them have a strawberry on their bottom... so cute! This is my first image that I colored, but I have about 10 more to share in the upcoming weeks. Today was my day to post a sneek peek so here it is. Be sure to check their information blog daily as they will have two posts everyday with all sorts of cute samples and new releases (did I mention I am a co-coordinator of one of their design teams). Today they have a super special project made by Jinky.. it is so stinking cute you have to go peek! HERE

This stamp along with the rest of these amazing images will be available next week! Whew Hew.. toot toot for these cute little critters.

You melt my soul

LOL... now I am having fun! Is this funny or what? I know it might not be nice, but what the heck we need some humor in our life! I love this snowman hat but thought it was missing something... the snowman!

Image by Stampendous..... it is a simple and fun image to color. I used my Copic markers to color and added Glossy Accents and glitter for my snowman. The nose is a stem piece of an orange brad, beads for the eyes and buttons, then pieces of twine for the arms. Added a typed greeting, ribbon and buttons for the finishing touches. Of course I colored it with my Copics I am pleased with the outcome...

Christmas Cookies

One of my fondest memories as a child was going to the Gingerbread House at the Central City Mall in San Bernardino for Gingerbread cookies and Hot Gingerbread. The store and the mall are long gone, but the memories will remain a lifetime. Thus, such a perfect greeting!

This sweet little girl is baking up some gingerbread men. I absolutely love her. Did you know that a gingerbread is the only man you can chew on his butt, bite off his head or poke him in the belly and he won't be offended! In fact, he loves being chewed on (a lonely cookie never gets chewed on). Check out the little embellishment string of gingerbread men... I stamped up extra images and cut out the cookies then strung them across on tiny twine.

STAMP: Stampendous CRS2048 Cookie Memories Set (includes greeting)
Markers: Copic R24, R29, R59, G20, G82, G85, E000, E00, E11, E30, E33, C3, C5,

Happy Birthday Laura Mann Weed - Stampendous

Happy Birthday Laura

Laura Mann Weed, our fearless and creative leader of the Stampendous DT is having a birthday. We could not let this opportunity pass without special love being sent her way... I met Laura at a Copic Certification class that I taught last year and now I have the honor of being part of the team for three months! Whew hew...

Here is my special card, I originally started it as a my card post for this month's color challenge, but I just keep throwing things onto the card until it turned into a wonderful special someone card and I thought it was perfect for Laura.

How Fun is that! You never know what a project might turn into when you sit down to start playing. One of my favorite things is to show versatility of a stamp... first look at this stamp tells me "Christmas" but winter birthdays happen several months out of each year... so what the heck! Take a second look at your stamps and think of occasions other than the obvious holiday and you will get more use out of your stamps! You could also put a photo of your family, dog or other special someone in place of the greeting. Be sure to check out all of Stampendous embossing powder , gold glitter and mica.. YUMMIE...eye candy!

I met Laura at a Copic Certification class that I taught last year, and now I have the honor to work with her for the next three months. It is soooo exciting.

Be sure to check out the rest of the teams special wishes to Laura - Links are on Stampendous Page of Facebook... did you know you can find tons of ideas there? check it out HERE

Happy Birthday Laura, may your day be special..... as the card says..... There is SNOWBODY like you. #CRR126 Stamp available at your local Scrapbook or Rubber Stamp store!

Hugs Everyone - Stay tuned for a week of great samples here on my blog.... sign up as a follower to make sure to see them all.

Give Peas a Chance

JANUARY CLASS PROJECT AT SEVERAL STORES!

Ok... Is this image the sweetest or what? I have a tendency to call special people in my life Sweet Pea... therefore I could not resist this image. I actually colored it in July, but could not share it because it was being considered for publication. It was not picked up by the book after all so now I can finally share! Just love the way I colored it, if I may be so bold to admit (blush). I wanted some texture so I used the tip of my marker to add dots and didn't over blend my coloring.... Just love it.

to get the depth in the green I added some dark blue/greens to the pea IE: BG75 this added a bit of gray and a bit of blue, giving the results that I was looking for.

please excuse the poor photography.... its from a cell phone! LOL.. the original image is still at the book publishers and I wanted to share!

STAMP: Give Peas a Chance by House Mouse... (tooooo cute)

Snowman Ornament

I had so much fun playing with this snowman rosette ornament! It was like being a little girl again playing with stamps, ink, glue, glitter paper, feathers, scissors, and of course my copic markers (didn't have those as a girl..LOL) This image is so much fun to color and not hard at all. Note that I shaded the sides of the scarfs to make the scarf look like it was curved and not flat. Does it look like the middle of the scarf is closer to you. That is done with highlighting and shading. The snowmen are also shaded with W1 gray marker. Hmmm glitter may have been fun on them too you might want to try that!

The snowflakes were punched using Martha Stewart punch then glued onto the large rosette. The rosette was so easy also... I used two 3" x 12" strips of decorator paper scored every 1/2". Then glued them together end to end and then formed a circle. You have to use a huge gooey glue dot in the middle to help hold it together. I then glued on the turkey feathers, and snow flakes... fun and easy!

Enjoy!

Stamp Name is: Stampendous Cling Jumbo Snowfall Pair CRS5018

Stamp is by Stampendous and is available at your local Scrapbook store, Rubber Stamp Store or other craft supply place. Please support your local stores. Or you can find the stamp here.

Stampendous December Challenge - sample 2

Saturday is here so it's time to take a peek at the Stampendous Team's amazing creations for this month's challenge "PINK, BROWN OR GOLD AND CREAM". This card is a bit different for me but I was pretty please with the outcome. I got to play with the my new amazing Stampendous aged gold embossing powders - SO YUMMY best I have ever worked with - honest! It's chunky and thick and oh so good! This amazingly cute image is called Little Angels and is available HERE

Here are a few other pictures showing that I made my own background paper using stamps, Copic Ink refills, Copic Blending Solution and my favorite new embossing powder! It was so fun to just plop each ingredient onto the glossy cardstock and smear it around with a piece of scrap cloth that was on my table. I hated to cover up my background paper so I thought I had to share it as it was being created so you an see the whole thing! LOL...

This was loads of fun and so easy to make.. give it a try or take a peek at the rest of the Stampendous DT samples for inspiration for many creations.

TIP: can you find my light source? The lantern of course! So I made the front side of my image lighter and the shading towards the back.

Pictures below
1. Ingredients for background paper, Tim Holtz gold mixitive, Copic Various Blending Solution, Copic Refill inks R85, E35, and a piece of cloth or cotton ball and glossy cardstock. Stampendous Vintage Piano Stamp set available HERE

2. Drip each ingredient onto glossy cardstock randomly. Then smudge around a bit with a piece of cloth.. I used burlap because it was what was within reach.

3. Stamp image randomly onto the dry paper. (use Stayzon on glossy paper do not add any alcohol based ingredients after stamping with Stayzon as it is not compatible with WET Alcohol)

Just an update to all of my friends. My furry little dog Jazzie (my little angel and inspiration for this card) is now on her way towards recovery. It has been a long, extremely expensive and emotional road for the past few weeks. (respiratory infection that led to diabetes, cushing's disease, collapsed trachea and a list of subsequent ailments.) She finally played with a toy yesterday and ate something today! Whew Hew! Thus the reason for few postings!

Stampendous Challenge!

CHALLENGE: Pink, cream, brown or gold..... (details below)

I made the Stampendous Blog Star Team... Wowza... What is that you ask? Well, I get to be a guest designer on the Stampendous Blog Team for three months... Whew hew for me...

I am excited about all of the new people that I will be introduced to. Now for my first blog post here is a cute little card made with SHORT ELF available here. He also has a darling little greeting, but mine was missing... Ooops... had to print one up on the computer.... not near as cute as the stamp.

Card Tips:
There are a few things on this card that I would like to point out... First of all is that fantastic white flocking that I put on their fur! Is that amazing or what...? just apply the flocking like you would glitter using a glue pen. The next detail I would like to point out is the LONG HAIR on two of the elves. Originally, the Elf had short hair (boy) and I wanted a girl elf. So, I took my .3 Copic multi-liner and doodled on some longer strands of hair... TA DA now I have two girl elves. Third Detail is the gold on the buckle and bells. That was done with a Copic Gold Spica pen. Amazing to add a tiny bit of glitz.

Be sure to leave love (comments) along the way, as you visit the blogs and Blog Gallery!

DETAILS FOR MY CARD:
Stamp: Stampendous Short Elf
All Colored Paper: Bo Bunny Dot
White Paper: X-Press Blending Card - from Imagination International
Ribbon: Bo Bunny
Markers: Copics: E30, E33, E37, R81, R85, R89, face: E000, E00, E11, belt: C3, C5, C7 ground: E40, E42, E44, gold spica pen and .3 black multi-liner. Background Airbrushed with Copic ABS system using E81 marker.
Other: Stampendous white Flock! YUMMY!, hole punch, adhesive, glue pen, scissors

Apples Galore... a

This is a repost from last fall... I am thinking of doing this card at SMS next month for a quiet break from the holiday buzz.... what do you think? (and maybe roses). This time of year I love Carmel Apple Cider... and apple pie so thought it would be fitting.

I LOVE this image. It was so fun to color. I was sitting at the car dealer waiting for my car to get fixed (something in the steering column) and had plenty of time to color. I didnt have the right colors for the inside of my apple and ended up redoing them after I got home (cut and paste) I love the E50's for my apple centers and cant wait to do it again without cut and pasting... isn't paper crafting perfect... if ya boo boo you just cover it up! In this image, I used more gray rather than a brighter colors to shade and shadow.

At the Intermediate Certification we talked about shading with grays or colors with more gray in them. Here I used more gray rather than a more intense color as I had previously used. This way of shading makes more sense to me than just using a more intense color. IE: when shading use the same color Plus 10 in grayness (first number) and 2 in brightness (second number). For Example for R27 I would shade with R39. If you don't have a color that is darker then try adding a bit of gray to your image. Note I also added some Yellow in both my red and green apples. I took a look at a real apple and it had green and yellow in the red so I thought i would give it a try. It worked - it is so amazing what ya can do with Copic Markers....

Vintage - Stampendous

Ok.. not my usual style.. but believe it or not I prefer the vintage look to the clean crisp look... One would never know it. Vintage is harder for me to do, don't know why, but it does not come natural for me. Clean and simple layouts just pop into my head..... I love it when I take the time to create something more grungy! Even got my pinkies inky! LOL.... didn't have a greeting that would fit in the tag and I had to use the tag....love it! DO YOU? SHOULD I DO MORE IN THIS STYLE?

Stamp: Stampendous
Copics:

OCL - Guest Designer for October - Outta This World

Is this card darling or what? I love it. I have not made many little boy cards since Austin was younger but this is so fun.... wonder what Austin would think If I sent it to him for his 18th birthday that is actually later this month. I don't think he will care what card I send as long as I send a check with lots of $$$$ in it... LOL... gotta love teens.... mine is the best - just ask me, (all moms have the best kids).

This set is called Outta this world by Our Craft Lounge. Please check out their blog as I am their guest designer for the month of October.... I promise to have something NEW and fun next monday but check it out now to see what else they have. All of their stamps are available at your local Scrap/Stamp Store...... if they don't have them please ask.
