Lilacs.... Cast Shadow vs shading

Here is the image I worked on during Intermediate Copic Certification class and on the plane. I colored this image as I always do by highlighting each and every little individual flower.

This second image I shaded the lower half of the flower as a whole rather than each individual flower. It was much quicker and probably more realistic looking. Tiny highlights and shadows can be added in. I also added a cast shadow below the flower. Cast Shadows are tricky and I will be talking about them more and more in the upcoming months.

“JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #6”.

Doesn't Grovy Snowan has the coolest scarf! Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #6! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s the Copic design team and Certification instructors! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

I did this card at Scrapbooking Heaven on Monday and they LOVED it. It was a few too many pieces for me to cut up and pre die cut and emboss 12 of... but what the heck I love the outcome and so did my students. I sprayed the background with a very light lavender BV000, by leaving the Spellbinders die on the image while spraying it, you get a white outline which I love.

Here is a close up of his hat. Note that I first colored the entire hat with C1 then Added in C4 from the sides then blended with C1. I kept the highlight in the center of the hat from top to bottom and tried to highlight the nose to match. I did this as a project in my class last night at Scrapbook Heaven and they LOVED him.

Please check out my last blog post for some face and skin tips... I think you will like it!

FACES & HAIR CLASSES - part 2

These images will also be included in my Faces and Hair classes. I absolutely love this image by the Peddlers Pack https://www.peddlerspack.com/. Peddler's pack has so many large images that are just perfect for Copic markers... I have several of my students addicted to their stamps!

These were all stamped from the same stamp - yet by the changing her colors she takes on a whole new personality. In class each guest will get to personally select their own color combos for their image. How fun is that!

Baking up Christmas Memories

Wow... can you believe it... it is already time to make our Christmas cards... my Christmas Card making cruise is less than a month away... We still have one lady who needs a roomy.... do you want to go?

Girl with cookies is made with Stampendous stamp and Cosmo Cricket Paper... isn't she just totally cute! I added a bit of color on the tips of the legs and arms on the cookies with a darker color to make them look like they were baked by me... and burnt on the edges! I also shadowed the cookies with a darker gray. Background is hand colored with B00.
Here are the colors I used. YG11, GY17, E000, E02, R22, R27, B00, Sparkly Fluff on wrist is by Our Craft Lounge. I will be making this card in my class at Collective Journey on Oct 13.
I was feeling silly and wanted to fill in the white space on the background so I just polka dotted it with my markers. (snowflake was not supposed to be in photo)
