Penguins a Plenty!

Can't get enough of these cute little guys from Our Craft Lounge - they are the easiest little guys to color and so versatile. They can be used all winter and not just for Christmas! They were both done for the OCL birthday bash challenge. http://www.blog2.ourcraftlounge.com/

Be sure to go to OCL and check out all of the fun things happinging this week to celebrate the release of 13 new stamp sets and their first birthday.

Fairy Dust is a Must! New Stamp Set by OCL

FAIRY DUST IS A MUST is my favorite new release by Our Craft Lounge. These cards were made for their one year celebration challenge.

Pink fairy:
I added bling by adding pink sparkle fluff the the flower that was punched with an old SU punch. More bling was added with OCL crafty sparkles to her wings.

Blue Fairy
Bling added with Our craft Lounge crafty sparkles - it is awesome glitter.. teeny tiny bits of glass crystals - beautiful on all creations.

These two cards were made Christmasie just by coloring with the traditional Red & Greens. I actually used two OCL stamp sets on the last card. The presents came from Sea-sons Greetings (another favorite set of mine because it has bubbles my fav turtle).

Austin & Amanda - Scrapbook page

Here is a beautiful page made with two of Our Craft Lounge stamp sets.. HEARTS & HUGS, & LIFE JOURNEY.
Aren't they sooo cute! Austin and Amanda are both Sophmores and have been daiting for two years. They are best of friends. I love both Austin and Amanda. I am thankful that Austin has such a great person in his life.
Background paper was made with Hearts Hugs (isn't it cute), and the journaling box & life is sentiment is stamped with Life Journey.

I am most THANKFUL for Austin

Here is my pride and joy... my son Austin Addison Black. He recently turned 16 and flew his airplane solo! He actually flew his airplane solo before getting his drivers license.. it was a personal goal of his and he did it! The kid amazes me, he sets his goals and drives himself until he succeeds! I love him so much.
Austin I love you and am so thankful that I am your mom!

Turtle Spinner Card - Lexi's Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI

August first is Tom's niece's 12th birthday. Lexi is a sweetie and loves soccer & sports of all sorts. I couldn't resist the idea of these two cute turtles playing water soccer! I hope she likes her card.

I added a bit of crystal effects to the shells and some gel pen to the turtles eyes to help his eyes pop a bit. The spinner is on pennies and some dimensional tape that I puched out with a hole punch for nice round rollers. I have not done a spinner card in YEARS.

The soccer ball rolls back & forth! How fun! Stamps are of course Our Craft Lounge and the soccer balls is from an old Stampin Up set that I kept because it is timeless.

Happy Birthday Lexi..... looking forward to our shopping day together for your birthday. See you Wednesday!

Our Craft Lounge Monthly Sketch Challenge

Free Stamps! Did you know Our Craft Lounge has a sketch challenge every month. One lucky winner will get to pick a OCL stamp set of their choice as their prize...
If you don't have a blog to post it to.. no problem, post it to Splitcoast stampers. SO FUN. I won a few months ago and won the OCL Coastal Wishes set.. I love it!

Each month the challenge card is based on a card made by the last months winner. This month we are doing a challenge done by Etha... oh dear this was by far the hardest for me yet. As you all know I tend to use tons of layers on my cards. Well, this one only had three! Yikes, I tried and tried to go by her sketch and ended up adding a few layers and a ribbon. Sorry Etha, you can do the simple beauty better than me! All in all it was based on Etha's card and that was the idea in the first place. To make my own card, based on Etha's layout! Everyone should try it... who knows you might win a free stamp set.
go here for the instructions & August sketch! Good luck everyone!

Family Friday (a bit early)

I have promised my family to post some photos of summer each friday. Well, it has been pointed out to me that I have not done that in a few weeks... OOPS.. Hope this makes up for it... I love you all.

Summer went by so fast. Austin visited twice each time for two weeks. I loved every minute of our time together. Of course we had cousins galore especially my sweet niece Amanda. Mom came for 10 days which was wonderful. It was too long since we last saw each other.

Tom's boys raced in several motorcycle races with Wesley getting hurt twice. Ouch. Of course we did the water things like a million trips to the beach and ended summer with a trip to the waterpark.

So here are a few photos of our summer. More next week...

Mom, me and Austin... Doesn't mom look little next to Austin. Austin at Laguna Beach... brrr the water was cold that day. I refused to snorkel in that cold water, but we had to do a bit of boogie boarding (until our skin turned pink from the cold water). Steve at the race track where he won second place (on bike). Wesley at the racetrack between races.

Penquin Parkas! & Class Samples

Here is a cute card I made for one of my next month's card classes. I just love these little Penquins from Our Craft Lounge. The set is called Penquin Parkas... The punch is a Martha Stewart edge punch - it is sooo fun. Of course I added some sparkle fluff to the penquins hats and some glitter for snow! I love Christmas & Winter cards. Come back later in the week for more!

I want to say thanks to everyone who attended one of my classes last week. It feels sooooo good to be be stampin again. As promised I am finally getting a few of the sample cards that we made posted to my blog. Please note that I taught several classes and by the end of the last one, my samples became a bit tattered (some even dissappeared). Next month I will provide a xerox copy of the projects for you to take home incase you dont complete your project. Please also check out my Splitcoaststampers gallery where you will find several other samples.http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2876

I am currently booking a begining Copic Techniques classes at your several local stamp stores. Instead of completing 4-5 cards, we will work on a Technique book. I have made a 15-20 page booklet with instructions on several different techniques. On each page we will practice coloring images selected specifically for that technique. We will also learn a bit about the Copic colorwheel and how to pick color combinations.
There are lots of extra little tables & goodies included in this booklet. A great reference tool for doing projects later. Dates have not been finalized at all stores, so please ask at the counter or check my postings later next week. (Chino is already scheduled for Sept).

OCL Holiday Release - Day 3

This is only day three of Sneek Peeks... You gotta come back tomorrow for a chance at 31 free sets given away to viewers like you (one each of course).... one set will be given away by each designer listed on OCL's new blog. Can you believe 31 free sets! Oh My that is HUGE. Check it out here! http://www.blog2.ourcraftlounge.com/

TWEET WINTER WISHES

You won't believe all of the cute images in this set. Oh my Wow! It is totally awesome. I thought I wanted to do the cute little turtles for my Christmas cards.. but this is soooo cute too. I still have another Christmas card to show on Thursday! The choices we have for such awesome Christmas cards.

HOPPY HOLIDAYS

Here is another super totally cute set. It has froggies doing all sorts of winter fun things... like sleding, Christmas caroling etc. It is soooo cute. I admit the colors are not your traditional Red & Green, I had fun playing with the lime green, pinks and yellows. Of course I used a few of my favorite copics.... YG05/Salad my favorite yellow green, shadowed a bit with YG67/moss, Y19&Y21 are fun yellows, and for pink I used RV34/Dark Pink & lightened it up a bit with R81. Not saying these are the best choices for you... but it is what I had in my collection. This fun folding card opens at the two little tabs made with a slit punch.

HOLIDAY CRUISER

Like I said... there are 31 awesome new sets.... this one is a wonderful set for Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas.... Not only does this cute set have a turkey, it also has a totally wicked witch, and a wonderful Jolly Santa. You could put all sorts of images in this cool car.

I cut the image out and laid on printed paper for the sky background then ran the ribbon under to double as my road. This will be a great image to demo feathering colors. I think I will play some more with those tail feathers. I colored the feathers with YR21/cream then added E33/sand on top by sort of feathering into the cream color.

NOW FOR GRANNY!
Not one but two new sets. She is the coolest Granny ever!
SHOP TILL YOU FLOP
Here she is shopping for her Christmas goods.. Isn't she the coolest? I colored the silk flowers with my copics to match the card... Did you know you could do that? It is sooooo cool because your embellishments then match your card perfectly! I love it! Of course I added platinum sparkly fluff to her hair and added a bit of sparkle to her shoes with a clear copic spica pen. I highlighted her flower centers with a white gel pen to match the polka dot paper I chose.

GRANNY'S POTION

I am not even going to hint at the wonderful things in this set.... I mean just look at this sweet granny making up a Halloween potion. Green sparkle fluff was perfect for her potion - oozing over the side. Again I used the platinum sparkly fluff for her hair! Gotta have that sparkly fluff it is sooooo fun.

SEE YOU TOMORROW... I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT SET I WILL BE GIVING AWAY YET, BUT I CAN HINT THAT IT IS A TOTALLY AWESOME HOLIDAY SET... LOL (they all are!)

OUR CRAFT LOUNGE SNEAK PEEK DAY 2

SEA-SONS GREETINGS

What could be better than combining several of my favorite things all into one. I love turtles, love bubbles, love Christmas and love OCL stamps.... I get it all with the new SEA-SONS GREETINGS Stamp set. It was first on my wish list (or must have list).

Ever have an image not turn out the way you wanted it to? Well, I was coloring these cute little turtles and added tooooooo much ink. The ink spread further outside the image than I wanted... so I made it a stampers challenge or embellishment opportunity to use the turtles and not waste them. I cut them out and added them to this larger image to create a larger scene. Added crafty sparkle to the tree & sparkle fluff to the santa hats. Do you think that turtle will share his candy?

PEEK-A-BOO
Okay, is it me or are these images getting cuter and cuter? Once I started playing with these monsters I could not put them down... I had to pick two from all the cards I made to show today. This is a tri fold that opens when you untuck the saying from under the ribbon. I am going to add fast food gift cards in these for our teens Halloween gifts (three teen boys 15 - 17).

I wanted to make a card with each image, but that would have taken forever! Instead I included three on one card. What fun... Think I will call it monster sampler! Are they the sweetest monsters or what? This is a must do card for my next month classes.. will give several chances to use the copics...

REINDEER KISSES

What a perfect name for a cute reindeer stamp set. Just wait until you see the whole set. There are some real cute images including this real cute swirly tree. Wish it fit on the card, but couldn't get everything on there. This card was made from the techniques from Splitcoaststampers. Of course I made a boo boo in the scoring and got an extra fold, but what the heck... I like it.

WOWZA! and I said everyday this week gets better... just wait until tomorrow and Thursday! Whew Hew... see ya then. Jennie

PS. My blog is new so I really really appreciate all of your views & comments. Thanks to all of you.
