Penny Black Challenge! Versatility!

Today I am show casing an image that I love to use for several different occasions... By changing the color scheme or embellishments on the card, you can make an Easter Image a Christmas Image, or Birthday Image etc.... This is a way to stretch the usability of each stamp! Love that!

I have colored this same image in several different color Schemes to show you the versatility of an image I would normally consider an Easter image.

Love Bug! Penny Black Gem Challenge & Allsorts challenge

I am loving these challenges....

Penny Black Blog Gem Challenge
and

It really makes me think about the different things I already own and never use on my cards. Is this LOVE BUG cute or what! Love her.... she is by Penny Black and named LOVE ANTENNAE . But I like the name LOVE BUG because that's my Bugsies name.

INGEDIENTS USED:
Stamp: Love Antennae 4119j by Penny Black
Butterflies: Prima
Dec. Paper: Pinecone Press
Dies: Spellbinders
other: Rhinestones, scallop punch

an old favorite pic of my little LOVE BUG Bugsie can you believe she is almost 7 months old now.... and a whopping three pounds... Looks like she will max out at about 3.5 lbs.... she is soooo tiny and loveable (but full of vinegar). Her new trick is to hold the doggie door closed from the inside when Jazzie (other Yorkie) wants in. Jazz usually gives up and says "whatever" and trys again later!

Did you check out those Spider Web Eggs.... What a kick! This image is totally fun and extremely versatile... I mean, cupcakes are great for any celebration ... right? Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter, Graduation, Bday, thank you, new baby, oh my can't think of any day that a cupcake is not welcome! Here is the original card!

I printed the greeting onto printed paper in my printer (pre-cut the paper to 8 1/2 x 11). I think Sweet wishes will also work for many occasions. Have fun being versatile and coming up with new ideas for your stamps! Use them more than once!

November classes -

YIKES.. it's past time to update my calendar! My goodness.. but I have been busy creating creating and creating....... Amazingly, I have had lots of time to create this month and just color "Extra" things! (surprising how much you can accomplish when you give up house cleaning! LOL)

Here are a few images that we will be doing in a few stores next month! I am trying to expand your stamp collection by making each stamp more versatile! Here are a few images that are not "Holiday" images, but by using "holiday" colors - I made them into Holiday cards... Easy Peasy.

All Images by Penny Black (lately I am addicted to her images). Check out the Penny Black Challenge here

The first two are my favorite (next two in a separate post). I love the vintage colors and the muted background that I airbrushed with my Copic Air Brush System. The sky in the aviation scene is also airbrushed using a piece of scrap paper cut with scissors for a cloud mask.

hair: Y32, E33, E35
bunnies: W1, W3

Apples Galore... a

This is a repost from last fall... I am thinking of doing this card at SMS next month for a quiet break from the holiday buzz.... what do you think? (and maybe roses). This time of year I love Carmel Apple Cider... and apple pie so thought it would be fitting.

I LOVE this image. It was so fun to color. I was sitting at the car dealer waiting for my car to get fixed (something in the steering column) and had plenty of time to color. I didnt have the right colors for the inside of my apple and ended up redoing them after I got home (cut and paste) I love the E50's for my apple centers and cant wait to do it again without cut and pasting... isn't paper crafting perfect... if ya boo boo you just cover it up! In this image, I used more gray rather than a brighter colors to shade and shadow.

At the Intermediate Certification we talked about shading with grays or colors with more gray in them. Here I used more gray rather than a more intense color as I had previously used. This way of shading makes more sense to me than just using a more intense color. IE: when shading use the same color Plus 10 in grayness (first number) and 2 in brightness (second number). For Example for R27 I would shade with R39. If you don't have a color that is darker then try adding a bit of gray to your image. Note I also added some Yellow in both my red and green apples. I took a look at a real apple and it had green and yellow in the red so I thought i would give it a try. It worked - it is so amazing what ya can do with Copic Markers....
