COPIC BONE YARD. Dear wonderful US Airways was kind enough to smash my luggage that was carrying Copics and popped the lids off about 50 markers. Normally this does not happen so they
must have REALLY SMASHED my luggage - they even cracked the side of my hard sided suitcase. Of course they don't cover things like sports equipment and hobby materials or their cases - it's in their disclaimer - these just happen to fit into that catagory. The worst part of the ordeal is it was summer in California and I left my luggage in the garage for a week before discovering the mess.. by then the markers were all dried up because they sat in 100+ temps without their lids for a week. Don't do that you guys! Bad idea. I always share the fun days of my job so I thought I would make you guys feel better by sharing that not all aspects of any job are perfect..... LOL I still won't trade my job away.... love it. However, I will put off my manicure until after this chore is done! Inky messy hands are on the way!

Collective Journey - Sunday November 21
Here are a few of the projects we will be doing at Collective Journey in Redlands, CA on Sunday. It is not recommended to color with your Copic markers directly onto Glitter. However, we use a dedicated blender pen or a watercolor brush filled with Blender solution to apply the ink. That way the glitter does not clog the pores of your marker. The first card was done by basic coloring, blending with a bit of glitter added for snow and fur on the stockings. The other cards were done as follows.

1. using double sided tape place one side of tape on white cardstock and sticky side up.
2. add stickers sticky side of sticker onto sticky side of tape.
3. add micro fine glitter (Ritz Glitter - cool highlights).
4. burnish the glitter with a clean rag to remove all excess glitter (important step)
5. fill watercolor brush with copic blender pen refill solution, then use pen to paint color onto glitter.
6. trim and add to your card

Indian Corn

This will be Austin's Thanksgiving card. Being a manly guy... he prefers realistic images rather than the cutsie ones that I color. I thought this would be perfect! The image drawn by Karen Medler and rubber stamp by The Peddler's Pack, and of course colored by me....
It was amazingly quick to color. I colored it in bed last night trying to settle down for the night... I think it took about 10-15 minutes max to color! Very EASY
colors: Y21, YR21, E30, E33, E35, E19, E15, E27, E09, E08 chosen randomly!

Let's Get Basted!

LOL.... Here is one of the cards we did on the cruise. If you went with four 18 year old boys you would see the relationship between this card and the cruise. The Greeting on the inside says LET'S GET BASTED! LOL... I wanted to wait to post this on Thanksgiving Day but thought a few of you might want to get this darling image from Whimsie Doodles - its a digi stamp so you can have it today! I used the new Copic X-Press it paper... no feathering outside the lines! The ink stays where you put it and still blends nicely!
My Thanksgiving will be celebrated with family and friends. Austin arrives Tuesday night! I can't wait - only a week from tonight and I get my own son here for almost a week. Whew Hew - this mom will be one happy girl!

Austin is a pilot!

Austin I love you with all my heart and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. Please do me a favor. If it is your dream to fly AIR FORCE ONE... PLEASE WAIT UNTIL OBAMA IS OUT OF OFFICE... it will be a safer job at that time! Here is a photo of the stuffed plane I found for Austin! Thought it was perfect for this occasion along with another present he will like better. Love you so much.....
Love Mom.
image by Whipper Snapper.. I am always collecting plane or aviation images... if you know of one please let me know... Austin prefers more realistic images, but I bought this one the second I saw it and kept it for this occasion. the flag was perfect to put in a little congratulations blurb.
