Apples Galore... a

This is a repost from last fall... I am thinking of doing this card at SMS next month for a quiet break from the holiday buzz.... what do you think? (and maybe roses). This time of year I love Carmel Apple Cider... and apple pie so thought it would be fitting.

I LOVE this image. It was so fun to color. I was sitting at the car dealer waiting for my car to get fixed (something in the steering column) and had plenty of time to color. I didnt have the right colors for the inside of my apple and ended up redoing them after I got home (cut and paste) I love the E50's for my apple centers and cant wait to do it again without cut and pasting... isn't paper crafting perfect... if ya boo boo you just cover it up! In this image, I used more gray rather than a brighter colors to shade and shadow.

At the Intermediate Certification we talked about shading with grays or colors with more gray in them. Here I used more gray rather than a more intense color as I had previously used. This way of shading makes more sense to me than just using a more intense color. IE: when shading use the same color Plus 10 in grayness (first number) and 2 in brightness (second number). For Example for R27 I would shade with R39. If you don't have a color that is darker then try adding a bit of gray to your image. Note I also added some Yellow in both my red and green apples. I took a look at a real apple and it had green and yellow in the red so I thought i would give it a try. It worked - it is so amazing what ya can do with Copic Markers....

Christmas is Coming! - Saturated Colors Challenge - Copic Creations.

COPIC CREATIONS - Saturated Colors Challenge: Check it out HERE

Here is an image I colored on the airplane the other day. It's a very fun image to color. I have colored it in many different color combinations, which gives me a totally different outcome every time I color it. This time I elected to color the background blue for the sky, the previous time I colored it I wanted to use dark green for the inside of the tree. The colorist can really change the outcome of the image by changing the back ground colors.... (night/day etc). This image is extremely easy to color. The dark dots or hash marks are where you color the image with the darkest color ink.. and where the hash marks are thinner or absent, you would use your lightest color... Easy Peasy! Note that even on the beads I used three colors leaving a highlight in a circular fashion to show a highlight on each individual bead. The pine needles are colored with a random selection of greens and colored in a random fashion (darkest closest to the center of the branch.)

Stamp: The Peddler's Pack, Beaverton Oregon
Copic Markers used:
Sky: B000, B91, B93
Pine Needles YG21, YG24, YG03, YG67, G85, Y11
Blue ornament: B21, B24, B26, B29 (my blue ran out of ink so I used pallet blending using B21 and B26)
Red Beads and Ornament: R22, R24, R27, R89
Yellow Ornament: Y32, Y35, Y38

Below is the image colored by me last year... see the difference? We all improve with time and practice....although I still really like the below coloring, the above image has smoother blends and the leaves have more definition and color. Thought I would share an older coloring of mine with a current one to show the difference! I don't remember what colors I used last year, but I am sure they were very similar to the colors I used this year.... Colorful Hugs to everyone! Get going on your Christmas cards... This is one of my images that we will be coloring in some of my coloring classes in October and November.. watch my schedule!

Bee-utiful Bee-Day To You!

As promised.. a new image to view!

I finally found time to color! Been loving family visiting, but missed my coloring! This image was fun and easy to color. It's a Birthday Bee by The Peddler's Pack. I was in a bright and cheery mood, so I colored it with lots of bright colors. Colors are listed below. Also used liquid crystal for the bee wings, nose and feet... too fun! The card is pretty busy, but so is the image with so many arms and legs! A mom needs this many arms - can you relate?

Puppy is two pounds of mischief! I love her, but oh my goodness... she is packed with dynamite! She will be a challenge!

Indian Corn

This will be Austin's Thanksgiving card. Being a manly guy... he prefers realistic images rather than the cutsie ones that I color. I thought this would be perfect! The image drawn by Karen Medler and rubber stamp by The Peddler's Pack, and of course colored by me....

It was amazingly quick to color. I colored it in bed last night trying to settle down for the night... I think it took about 10-15 minutes max to color! Very EASY
colors: Y21, YR21, E30, E33, E35, E19, E15, E27, E09, E08 chosen randomly!

Message In A Bottle

Like a message in a bottle, I am ready to set sail on the ocean blue. Cruise leaves on Sunday... two more nights in my own bed, then off to be rocked to sleep on the Mariner of The Seas departing from San Pedro. I finally got caught up on my sleep and got up real early this morning to color this image. I love the image which is from The Peddler's Pack (who has some of my favorite images drawn by Karen Medler).

Colors used were:

Sky B000, B00

Sea: BG000, Bg01

Browns: E50, 53, 55, 44, 47

Yellow/Greens: yg 03, 13, 17, 63

FACES & HAIR CLASSES - part 2

These images will also be included in my Faces and Hair classes. I absolutely love this image by the Peddlers Pack https://www.peddlerspack.com/. Peddler's pack has so many large images that are just perfect for Copic markers... I have several of my students addicted to their stamps!

These were all stamped from the same stamp - yet by the changing her colors she takes on a whole new personality. In class each guest will get to personally select their own color combos for their image. How fun is that!

Wow... I stopped by Peddler's Pack Rubber Stamp store last week while in Beaverton, Oregon. They have their own line of stamps and was lucky enough to pick up a few. These images are beautiful colored with my Copics... I colored about 10 of them but here are a few... I have to savor them and only show a few at a time.. but I want to show them all today! LOL....

I will be flying back up to Portland, on Friday and teaching my Copic Techniques class at Peddler's Pack in Beaverton on Saturday.. We have two classes scheduled and I think they are both almost sold out. Whew Hew! I am looking forward to my week with my son Austin and picking up a few more of these fun to color stamps!

This is one of my favorite stamps that I picked up last week. Is it beautiful or what!
