Coloring with my Daughter in law 2b

A day cannot get any better than having my son and his fiancee' Amanda Szyplinski here for four days!  I have had so much fun!  Amanda and I colored all day on Tuesday - she is a newbie colorist and an amazing one at that!  Her project is every bit as good as mine.. she may have to take over the business someday!  LOL.. We had so much fun and we made such a mess!  Austin even joined us and  we spilt a bottle of blue ink all over my white desk.. No problem - I will think of them everytime I look at it!  LOL.... See there is a positive in everything!

These are Amanda's Cards.... we did not write down the colors since we were just playing, but I wanted to share because she did such an amazing job!  I am very proud of her work!  She is amazing and I absolutely love her - My son picked the best to be my future daughter in law!  whew hew.......

She Sells Seashells.. with a bit of bling.

If you know me you know how much I love the ocean especially while scuba diving or snorkeling with the turtles. Most of the year that is not possible so I enjoy beachy things like seashells, and such.  Here is a very simple image by Fun Stamper's Journey.

I used only one stamp and three Spectrum Noir Turquoise set.  Of course I had to add a bit of bling to set it off.  I did a quick little video to show you how I got the layered effect to my shells.

Don't forget to join the Spectrum Noir Challenge this month!  Its all about bling..... and if you don't have the right color of bling - no problem... just color it with your Spectrum Noir Pens.

Howdy!

Howdy!
This morning my friend from the second grade (yes a million years ago) called me to say hello.  It was an awesome way to start a very busy weekend.  Donna told me that her new husband Bill Couts LOVED this image, so I made it into a card and would like to send it to him after I display it at CHA this week.  So Bill this is for you!

Colors:
Reds: DR1, DR3, DR7, CR7
Flesh: TN2, FS2, TN3
shorts: TB2, TB3 (and a bit of rubbing alcohol on a piece of denimn)
Hat: IG2, IG4, IG7
Hair: TN4, TN7 and a bit of GB3

The texture is fun and easy.  Here is how....
1. Color area you want texturized before coloring any other areas of the image.
2. Take a piece of denim and add a bit of rubbing alcohol (not soaking wet just damp).
3. Now wrap the denim around an acrylic block for evenness then stamp over the colored area.
4. Lift the block and denim and watch the alcohol dilute the areas where the texture touched the ink.

Be sure not to color surrounding areas until alcohol has dried.  If you color the surrounding areas prior to adding texture the colors will bleed together or you will have textured everything.  Texture on the leg or tummy would not be very appealing.  yuck.

The rest of the stuff I worked on is top secret using a new products that will be released at CHA in January!  Toot Toot - stay tuned you will LOVE them.!

Pretty in Pink

PRETTY IN PINK - One of my favorite colors!  The Holidays are coming and I am trying my best to get loads of cards done up for family gifts.  When I ask my family what they want for Christmas - they always say CARDS.... So of course I put it off every year and then rush to get them done.  This is one that one of my family members will get in their packet this year.  Below are several other images that are a bit easier to color.

This one is a Saturated Canary Digital Image that I got for free from Saturated Canary's 12 hour special  freebie promotion!  Gotta Love those freebies!  I colored her with a variety of colors.  Note that her jacket is done with the BP colors with a bit of IG2, IG3, and IG5 added to give a bit of shading and take away some of the shocking pink color.  I am a muted pink girl!  LOL.... Her socks are colored in the CG2, CG3, and DG3, then I brightened them by coloring a CT2 yellow on top of the green.  I really love the way a yellow will cheer up a lime green color!  Skirt is done in IG's, Face is TN2 & FS2, and a Bit of PP1.  Hair is TN2, TN4, TN6 and EB5.  Skates and pom pom's are done with just a bit of shading with IG2 and the blender pen.

Here are a few more cards that will be in my family gift packs... note that these were all made using the same stamp from the Mulberry Woods stamp collection by Crafter's Companion, but done in several different color combinations so that if they all get originals.  I love this dog stamp and it is so easy to color!  Do not laugh at the green dog... it is green with envy.... ok I was trying to make them all different..... lol.

Have a Great Day

Sealed With A Little Kiss - from the second I heard that was what SWALK stood for, I was instantly in love with this cute line of stamps.  This release is my favorite so far!  This funny image is purr-fect if you know me and my dog Bugsie!  She is always getting new ribbons and bows for her hair.. but no one is allowed to cut her hair!  Nope - It touches the ground just the way I like it!   Here is my pampered baby Bugsie sitting in front of the Steinway that Elvis used to record songs on!  LOL

The name of this set is  A Time To Paws I used several different Crafter's Companion tools, stamps and such so here is how I made the card!

First I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.  Colors used are
RED: DR1, DR3, DR7, CR10
GRAY: IG1, IG2, IG5, IG8
BROWN: TN1, TN2, TN6, TN8
BLUE: TB4
BLENDER PEN

My background paper was made using our new EBOSSER machine and our large Damask embossing folder.  I just love the size of these folders as you can make an over sized card with no problem!  The sandwich I used included the embossing folder, and plates A, C & D, plus one sheet of black cardstock.

Look at the crisp deep embossing it put into my cardstock.  I love these embossing folders!

Here is a close up of the image I colored.  I can't believe I picked red and black.. those are the two hardest colors for me to use!  LOL.. but I just love the dramatic look of red black and white... This lady looks so classy in her sexy black dress, pearls with her silver poodle!  LOL...

I hope my post has inspired you to try these great new stamps, the embosser, embossing folders and Spectrum  Noir alcohol markers!  Have a great day!
